Pre Metro Operations runs one of the UK’s most efficient and frequent light rail services – the celebrated Stourbridge Shuttle, operated in partnership with West Midlands Railways.

When Pre Metro approached me, they needed a complete overhaul: a fresh logo, new branding, and a website from scratch. With no existing digital presence, we also built their social media presence from the ground up. To further enhance their communication, we created animated explainer videos showcasing the benefits of their light rail vehicles.

The logo was designed to evoke a sense of movement, while subtly representing a modern Very Light Rail (VLR) train. The colour palette was carefully crafted to blend corporate greens and blues, reflecting the company’s strong environmental focus.

A unique brand identity was then developed specifically for the Stourbridge line. This identity reflects the synergy with the Pre Metro logo, while utilising a more friendly font and colours developed for the Pre Metro secondary colour palette. As the Stourbridge shuttle line is quite famous worldwide within the train community a cartoon character was developed to be used across merchandise and social media. All profits from the merchandise were donated to a local charity supported by Pre Metro.
